Emily Sweeney is co-founder of Wildwood Theatre Company where they serve as Artistic Director. Emily is a Zion resident who fell in love with theater through local musical productions as a kid. After earning a Biology degree from UW-Parkside and a stint as a lab chemist, the pull of performing proved too strong to ignore — leading to a move to New York City, where they worked as a Producer and Stage Manager on over 15 plays between NYC and LA. Returning to the Midwest in 2016, Emily became a Teen Librarian at Zion-Benton Public Library, where they founded a drama club that staged multiple productions with local youth. That experience inspired her to co-found Wildwood Theatre Company with their sister Jen, bringing theater education to the community. Emily loves helping young people discover the same sense of freedom and confidence they have found on stage.
Jen Ambrosini is co-founder of Wildwood Theatre Company where she serves as Artistic Producer and Director of Education and Youth Programming. A violinist, vocalist, and Kenosha native, she returned to the arts after nearly two decades in corporate finance. Her theatre experience spans stage management, scenic art, child wrangling, and performing, most recently as Audrey in Wildwood’s As You Like It. Jen is a mother of three neurodivergent children, and her commitment to inclusivity and accessibility is rooted in that lived experience as much as her years of working with kids of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds — a foundation she brings to every class she teaches.
