Join us on the North Lawn to celebrate our 20 new library trees!
We’re thrilled to announce that the Zion-Benton Public Library is participating in a grant from the Lake County Tree Initiative: The Tree Planting Solution to Clean Water. This spring, 20 trees from a variety of species were planted on the grounds strategically along Salem Blvd. and north of the building. The trees will not only provide shady spots for reading, but will also use photosynthesis to improve air quality, and help manage stormwater runoff for the entire community.
This exciting initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of our Teen Services Associate, Emily S. with expertise from the Zion Park District and local arborist, Michael P.
These trees will be enjoyed by library visitors for generations to come!
