Forest Bathing
at Van Patten Woods
Saturday, May 16
12:30pm - 2:30pm
Join us for a Forest Bathing walk led by Linda Karlen at Van Patten Woods in Wadsworth. We will meet at the Shelter D parking lot to start out!
Here's an invitation to join us on a forest bathing walk. A what?! "Forest bathing" is a guided immersion in nature that disconnects us from our busy brain life and offers us a much-needed connection to the more-than-human world. Some of the benefits of forest bathing (aka forest therapy) include reduced cortisol levels, an enhanced ability to focus, and a greater sense of ease. Whether you've participated in forest bathing previously or are a first timer, this walk is designed for you. Linda Karlen is an ANFT Forest Therapy Guide and looks forward to sharing this experience with you.
Tips for the best experience: Please dress comfortably on the day of our walk following the day's temperature and weather conditions (sunglasses, hat, rain jacket, waterproof boots, gloves... whatever you may need for comfort as we enjoy whatever conditions the day brings). Sit pads will be provided, but if you prefer, bring your own portable folding stool. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early to use the bathroom and sign a waiver before our walk begins. Come with an open mind and heart!

**Take the first right after entering the park following the sign for "shelters". Shelter D is the last shelter on that road. Linda will be in the parking lot. (Please note, Shelter D is rented by another party, we are just using that parking lot as a starting point.)
