About the Program: A licensed attorney will be available to provide general civil legal information. For eligible individuals who fill out an application, the attorney will provide FREE legal advice specific to their situation. The program will take place every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 1 to 3 PM. Areas of Law: Denial or Termination of Public Benefits such as SS(D)I, SNAP, and Medicaid Expungement and Driver's License Reinstatement Child Support and Custody Housing and Eviction Other Civil Legal Matters How it works: Anyone who is interested can call 224-321-5615 to pre-register, and applicants who are eligible for services will pick an appointment time to speak with an attorney. Walk-ins are also welcome, although priority will be given to pre-registrants.We are able to serve Non-English speaking clients at Ask a Lawyer using a phone translation service called Language Line. We have bilingual staff at our office who are able to assist Spanish speakers who call in to pre-register, and we will have paper applications in Spanish for walk-in applicants.
